Environmental Policy

Benchmark Systems believes that it is in the best interest of our local and global communities to preserve all of our precious natural resources. We strive to leave the earth a better place than we found it. In accordance with this goal, we are going beyond national and international environmental regulations with recycling, resource preservation and waste management strategies. Our commitment to safe environmental practices is further encouraged through ongoing internal efforts throughout the company to promote employee participation in recycling programs, water conservation efforts, and education in choosing environmentally safe alternatives at the office, and at home.

Resource Preservation

Benchmark employees are proactive in our efforts to preserve our natural resources, from conservative energy and water use to recycling policies. In our home office, self sustainable landscaping uses run-off water sources, saving thousands of gallons of water per year. Source reduction strategies have also been implemented to limit waste management needs, thereby reducing landfill demands.

Waste Not

Our goal is to dispose of our waste in safe and environment-conscious ways. We recycle and we utilize recycled products wherever possible. Aluminum cans are donated to local school fund raising projects, and waste paper is recycled. Benchmark is also very proud to participate in Computers for Education, in cooperation with The Neighborhood Alliance and the Downtown Community Center. Computers donated by our clients are refurbished and given new life and purpose in the homes of underprivileged families and community centers.

Paving the Way

Our innovative paperless office and medical records management systems have made it possible for other companies to share in our commitment to resource preservation. Paperless technology can save thousands of trees and conserve tons of recycled paper products per year, in addition to conserving space and the cost of climate control needs of record archives.

Healthy Planet, Healthy Person

At Benchmark, we believe that healthy people go hand in hand with a healthy planet, and strive to encourage healthy lifestyles among our employees with a physical fitness reimbursement plan, as well as an Employee Assistance Program which provides a source of support for individuals at no charge to the employee.

Evolving Goals

Our employees are a key aspect of improving our environmental impact, and we depend on each of us to help evaluate areas we could further improve. We encourage the implementation of similar conservation measures at home and through any other organizations we are involved with. We are constantly reevaluating our practices and procedures to help make them more environmentally friendly.
